A Catholic Girls School in the Benedictine Tradition

HOSA Club Immersion Day at St. Tammany Parish Hospital

Cissy LaForge
Local HOSA-Future Health Professionals chapters, including the SSA chapter, recently participated in an immersion day at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. "HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) is an international student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education (HSE) Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people."  The members toured St. Tammany Parish Hospital with other HOSA chapters in our area, met several physicians from different surgical fields, learned how to use the surgical robot, learned how to cast an arm and toured an operating room, just to name a few of the activities.  Thanks to St. Tammany Parish Hospital and their dedicated team of health professionals for providing this amazing opportunity for the high school students in our area!
